Sandy Murphy's Rosa Parks QuiltSandy, from San Diego, CA writes: "My daughter created a small "doll's" quilt as part of a biography presentation she had to do in second grade. Her biography was about Rosa Parks. Each of the blocks had a symbol that reflected important parts of Rosa Parks' life. My daughter used the quilt as a "prop" which helped her present her project to the class. And the most exciting part was that two days before the class presentation, we had the chance to meet Rosa Parks and to get a photo of my daughter, the quilt and Rosa! It was a terrific, lasting learning experience! "Right now, I'm trying to figure out a quilting project to do to help my 1st and 3rd graders about geometry." |
