Quilting with Children
Quilt

I started out during the 93-94 school year with an idea that I would like to have the following year's class make a quilt. I had never quilted in my life (my mom and wife have, but not me). I thought I could probably find a few people on the Internet who had done a similar project with their students. I couldn't find a single thing on any Web pages (the Web was pretty much new at that time). So I sent some requests through several Usenet Newsgroups asking for help.

I received about 20 replies, only two or three of which were encouraging. Several said I should try drawing/painting on a block instead of piecing it together. Most said I should give up the idea entirely because it just couldn't be done with kids.
