Terry Sams' Tennessee Quilt

Terry's quilts

Terry writes:

"This was done by a 4th grade class. They really loved this project. We study Tennessee history in 4th grade, so they chose that theme for the quilt. They did the blocks with the Pentel crayons and helped me sew the blocks together in school on an old sewing machine I had taught them to use. I quilted the quilt over the summer. It hangs in the hallway of our school. We still get lots of compliments on this quilt. Some of my boys were better at the sewing than the girls.

I have blocks from last year's class to turn into a quilt but have not yet had time. We did a study of birds over the Internet with Cornell Laboratories so that was our theme. Each student did a square of a bird. I hope to get this quilt done during snow days this year."
